It would seem to me, that the account request would still be in the system?

In mail section try setting user to moc.niamodruoy|ylper-on#moc.niamodruoy|ylper-on (instead of null)
remove the line with password, ssl and auth

First, I downgraded to your v463 (without changing my config) -> nothing changed.

Then I applied your configuration advice!
The "forgot password" test method proved that it worked.
(Still a kind of stupid test method, ain't!?)

Then I backtracked the configuration changes. The only relevant change was from:

user = null

user = no-reply@yourdomain.com

Your are the best!
(Probably this insight could find its way into the conf/full-example-of-wikidot.ini ?)

I'm not yet sure if this is important at all, but this is setting for wikicomplete.info (that works).

If it works, we'll investigate what happened, if not, we'll look deeper.

the newest version is now hosted on github (see installation guide). You can try to upgrade, but it's not that stable. Also the default is now single-wiki mode, which means, you have to set wiki_farm = true in [main] section in your wikidot.ini. Unless you would be happy with just one wiki?

I will point you a quite-stable revision (that runs wikicomplete.info): 463, although, the rock-solid version is on its way.

If it would be a known issue to 466 I could upgrade to some without the major changes.
I'm currently not aware where I can get information, which svn versions are considered especially stable?

I did upgrade from a working version 277.
(… half a year ago, I already upgraded from an even older version to 277.
The older version required the application of the bin/update-2008-08-19.php script.
But mailing worked with the version 277.)

I always diff my old wikidot.ini and consider new configuration items, migrating my settings.
The current configuration is as follows:

I have tried just one install from scratch with the new direction Wikidot OS is moving and had a few issues to overcome. I certainly would not try to upgrade an existing install, especially on my production machine. I may try it out on a test machine to see if/how well it works, but with the significant changes in how the "new and improved" open source version is going to work, it seems like it will be very difficult to do an update without issues.

A friend tried to create an account.
The verification mail never arrived.
I did an account creation on my own — yes the verificaiton mail does not arrive.
I tried with my existing account a "forgot password" — no mail arrives.

But the logs do not contain any information about the mailing.

How does the Mail Backend work?
Is there and where is the log file for mailing?
How do I test the wikidot mailing?
(My "forgot password" testing method is a little bit unsatisfying)

(The /var/log/mail.* files do not log any activity about the relevant mailings)
